Hi, Brother Greg,
I am glad to hear about your recovery following your “wakeup call.” Glad you were able to figure out the herbal mixture was the culprit. I seems reasonable to me that if one takes that many different herbs at one time, at least one will cause a negative side affect. More is not necessarily better when it comes to concoctions.
I am most to see you writing on this excellent site again.

I am very concern about ingesting something on a daily basis, and in my case it was wild yam root supplements from Nature’s Way. After I had a severe allergic reaction to something, I decided to ask Nature’s Way where their yams were grown, and that’s how I found out they are from China. I don’t know what caused my allergic reaction, but I don’t feel safe taking any supplements from China.

Unparalleled suffering leads to unparalleled spiritual freedom. It is no different than a surgeon performing a painful surgery to give relief to the patient. God’s main concern, therefore, is not if we suffer or not, but whether we keep ourselves present in His presence.

The greatest advanced spiritual seekers got to their station on the spiritual through suffering. Look at Upasni Mabharaj, Sai Baba of Shirdi, St. Francis of Assissi, Theresa of Avila. They all suffered tremendously.

In my life, it was intense suffering that led me to Meher Baba. And as he says, suffering is never in vain.

Then when the Bible says, Above all else I want you healthy and prosperous is a lie. We are told to turn to God for help, to pray for everything and yet God just sits there. If he is NOT going to keep his promises, if he is not going to do anything..Then why should we praise, and follow him? That’s like owning a business and being swamped with work and hiring some help, only they just sit and watch you toil, and tell you where to move a box or what order needs filled, but they do Nothing to help but still expect paid! It is a cruel God who claims to love us, and lets us be hurt and miserable again and again and again and does NOTHING to help change the situation to ease the pain. If I need Guidance I will see a social worker…I need miracles not lies and false hope!

I’m like TrialJunkie too. I tell people to do good things and help others, but still, there’s evil in the world. I just fucking hate it. I don’t think God is merciful or even there when the person is suffering or dying, He could’ve prevented that. Some say that God allowing evil is like gettin a shot as a kid, that’s just fuckin bullshit. God’s son Jesus supposedly saved the whole world from destruction, but instead, brought more misery.

I had a vision of Ganesh early this morning. I attended a detox yoga class yesterday hoping to cleanse and renew, and prepare myself for the next leg of the journey — leaving behind all that no longer serves my greater good, and the greater good of all. I love yoga, kirtan, meditation but have not paid much attention to hinduism and the dieties. What a surprise to see him in my minds eye. So glad to sing out to Ganesh-Ganapati during this period of major personal shifting, growth and development. Thank you, Carol.
