Good intentions are not enough. A soft hearted soul can easily be pulled into helping another soul which is seen as kindness, but each soul is on their own individual journey and has arrived at the place they are at according to their own karma. The important thing is to have good wishes and loving feelings towards every soul and then to remain detached and non judgemental and give each soul a respectful space to be themselves. It may not be their time to change, which is perfectly okay.
Om Shanti.

From the time we are born we should be taught how to live our lives so that death is easy and happy, but instead we are taught to hang on to this life like nobody's business, no matter what. What foolishness it is!!
Death is really a piece of cake. Just a change of costume.

I just read your article on kindness Greg. It's great. Everything you write is very good. But, (in giving another perspective) there is another quality that you have to balance with kindness in your life. In spirituality many things are a balance of two positives. If you go too far in one direction with a positive, (like kindness for example) it can actually become a negative. The balance for love is law. If you have too much love, or kindness. and no law, there is no backbone to it. It turns into attachment. Somebody is asking you for money and you want to be kind so you give it, and then you wonder why you get into problems and get yourself all mixed up with this person. Someone wants your time and you give it, once, twice, three times.............. for hours into the night and now you don't get enough sleep. Now you've gone too far. Kindness does have its downside, although for the most part what this world needs is more kindness. Love and kindness does need the balance of law and discipline and setting boundaries. This is also a type of kindness. In spirituality there are many balances like this. For example flexibility and firmness, determination and easiness, tolerance and the courage to face, introversion and being with people.
Take care and have a good evening.

I enjoyed reading this article today Greg. I would add another vice, in addition to laziness and boredom, which I believe that you have hinted at. When you are feeling lazy and bored, you will also be careless in whatever you do, which will cause you to make mistakes. It's all a chain reaction. The solution is to create the habit within yourself of being in the moment and making each moment the most important moment of your life. When you do this even mundane tasks don't feel boring. Boredom is a modern sickness which a generation or two ago didn't exist. In times gone by there wasn't the spare time to get bored. Boredom is caused by not using every moment in a worthwhile way. Time is a valuable commodity and it needs to be used carefully and purposefully.
Take care and keep on writing.
Love and peace,
Carol

Skin is only how thick?? Skin is sooooo thin and beneath that the human body is exactly the same. But, we're not even the body. We're the soul. We're spirits, tiny points of energy. We've worn many different costumes, male and female, black, white and all shades of brown. Racism, sexism and all the other isms are totally ridiculous. We are spirits interacting with spirits having an experience within matter. At one time, when souls were pure, matter was also pure, but now it has become impure. It is being made pure once again. Souls have forgotten their innate qualities of purity, peace, happiness, love and power and have been searching outside of themselves to regain what they had lost. Souls are searching in the material world for spiritual qualities which are actually within themselves if they only stopped to notice. It is consciousness of emptiness within souls which is radiating out into the world and causing all the troubles in the world. Everything boils down to attitude and consciousness.
Take care Greg and don't give up on writing. The world needs to read your writing.

Our lives are not meant to be lies, definitely not. They are to be lived authentically. Each soul is an actor and we all have our own parts to play. Some of us are more fortunate than others just due to the unique part that we have been given. We are the lucky ones whom God teaches, like Arjuna. Except that it's all metaphorical. The chariot is the body, Krishna is really God, Shiva, (the Incorporeal), Arjuna is each one of us who takes up the challenge.
This time period is unique in that it is the best of times and the worst of times. This is the most auspicious confluence age, the leap age between the iron aged hell and the golden aged heaven, when God Shiva Himself, the Incorporeal Supreme Soul descends on earth to transform every human being, animal and all the elements and make us all pure. This is the time when we have to face everything, all our inconsistencies and weaknesses and either transform willingly before time or be transformed against our will at the very end. We all have to become pure and ascend at this time period. God calls Himself Baba, Father of souls. Baba is a very sweet word meaning Father. God prefers to be called Baba. There are many Babas in India, Meher Baba, Sai Baba, etc. But He says He is the only one who doesn't have a Father because He is the source of everything. How could God have a Father........or a Mother...........or a Teacher? If he is Highest on High, the Almighty Authority? Only the Incorporeal One can't have a Father and only He can truly be the Father of ALL souls. This demonstrates that all those whom people call God, but who are in human bodies and therefore have fathers and mothers, really can't be God.
When God Himself comes, He comes and speaks the truth, and when we hear it, we become very humble realizing that we really knew nothing at all before God came, we were totally dangling upside down in ignorance. God, (Shiv Baba) becomes our Teacher and shows us the difference between right and wrong, (and there is right and wrong). Wrong is any action which separates us from God. All the vices separate us from God. God says, lust is the greatest enemy. How could we have known that before? We didn't. And He doesn't blame us for anything that we did on the path of devotion. Even devotion separates us from a direct connection with God. Devotion is about being in low self esteem and trying to attain God. When God comes He tells us who we are, who He is and says, now change yourself and become perfect and complete, karmateet.
Lots of love and blessings from the heart.

People are experiencing so much sorrow in this world at the present time that even a little love brings out the tears. People are truly parched for love. When you've been wandering through the desert for a long long time and you finally come to an oasis, the relief is so great that it brings out the tears.
But when you live every day in paradise, in golden age, in heaven, when you are full of love yourself, there is no need to cry or feeling to cry. Brahmins of the confluence age are filling themselves now with so much divine love from having yoga (remembrance of) the Supreme Soul daily that they can give to the world and also to create the sanskar of fullness in preparation for the golden age. When your cup is running over with love, peace, happiness, purity then you never cry. When something is full it doesn't shake. In fact God says sentimentality is weakness and shows lack of control of the sense organs.
Read the part in the Gita where Krishna (really it should say God, Shiva) is talking to Arjuna on the battlefield and inspiring him to stop being a wimp and fight. It's all about breaking attachment. We have to break attachment to the entire physical world, that is, die alive. We have to become free of the weight associated with people, places, things, public opinion, desires, and just become completely free and fly. We should not let anything snag us and hold us but just let everything flow passed. Those who take up this challenge in this birth are victorious and receive the reward of paradise. Everyone has to die anyway. The question is how do you die? And what are your final thoughts? Your final thoughts lead you to your destination. Letting go in happiness is a great thing!

Great article! When we take one step of courage the paper tigers just fall back into the shadows because they really were only paper tigers. We need to remember that before we let them scare us. All excuses are just ego's way of keeping us in low self esteem and bondage. Take care Greg and keep on writing.

This is really interesting. I would love to hear more about what Meher Baba has said about The New Humanity and the Word.

I know many people (my parents included) expected Baba to "break his silence" before he dropped his body by verbally saying a word, that would signify this.

But, I think it makes perfect sense that he did not do it this way. It is a huge spiritual breaking of silence that happens behind the scenes and then manifests as a huge catastrophe that brings conflict to all and then a loving calm never before seen by anyone in thousands of years!!

I wonder which literature it is that Baba talks about people in strife eating bark! And if he says any more about exactly when this will happen. But, I can't help connect the dots with 2012, although I'm sure people did the same thing with the Millenium.

Who knows!

Wow! That was amazing!! That was such a great piece of writing and I wish everyone could, or would, read it over and over again. The whole world is in such low self respect right now with addictions to wealth, comfort, sex, travel, poverty, shyness, feeling inferior, etc, etc. Ego either puffs us up or deflates us, but which ever way it goes it just isn't the accurate picture. We are much less and much more than we think we are. Less add-ons and way more powerful.
Greg, there should be comments everyday on your articles. Not nearly enough people read them or comment on them. I don't like to be the main one monopolizing the comment section, but somebody needs to be commenting.
Take care,
Om shanti
