Einstein once said that nothing happens until something moves. This is true in physics as well as in life. And as physics so well demonstrates, more energy is needed to move a stationary object than is required for one that is already moving. That is part of the law of inertia, which states that “A body in motion tends to remain in motion, a body at rest tends to remain at rest.”
Therefore, our most challenging step as we begin our journey on the path is to get moving. But for most people, that is a challenge magnified by habitual patterns of inertia that keep one stuck. If the goal is to move towards inner freedom, there is only one solution: a concerted and prolonged focus on inner presence. It’s the key to freedom. In fact, that inner relationship is the high road of all roads of inner development.
If addictive habitual patterns are keeping you stuck, then a focus on love is the only remedy for getting you unstuck. The power that becomes established within from the infusion of higher energies of love is of the infinite. It alone can give the impetus that keeps one free from reverting to the patterns of the old.
This inner freedom is significant, for without the pull of that which keeps us bound to illusion, we have a natural and unchallenged yearning for higher and higher levels of energies – energies of the subtle and the mental worlds. These are the energies of love, bliss, inspiration, joy, creativity, and beauty.
Picture a NASA rocket getting free from the pull of gravity. It suddenly has no limits to the heights and distance it can travel. When we have no limits on how far we can travel inwardly, we can reach the threshold of the unlimited – Infinite Consciousness.
Breaking free of the mental impressions that keep us bound in conditioned thought requires a sacrifice of the lower energies for the higher energies. As we begin to put a death to the lower vibrations of being, a birth to the higher levels begins.
It’s like trying to fine-tune a radio to pick up a certain frequency that is being interfered with by another frequency. You cannot experience the signal you long for until you can tune out the interference. That’s how it is when you try to tune-in spiritually. At first you run into interference. But with patience and persistence, you finally get the signal clearly.
But until you do this fine-tuning, you get nothing but interference and wrong signals. And unless you are in tune with the higher vibrations of being, you are limited in your experience of inner realities. This is a problem because without an awareness of the inner realities of divine presence, you stay stuck with old patterns.
How do we increase our energy capacity? Through love — by allowing the divine presence to unfold within us. Love tunes us to higher and higher vibrations. This not only allows for the higher rates of energy to flow through us, it attracts even higher levels of energy.
This is, in short, the work that we come into this world to accomplish. That is, by allowing more and more love to flow through us, we can raise our inner voltage capacity. And the more energy we have, the less limitation we experience.
Everyday is an opportunity to raise this vibratory level. But our tendency to focus on negative and petty thoughts prevents this. Dwelling upon negative energy attracts more negative energy. That, again, is a pattern that needs to be transcended.
So how to proceed? We proceed with vigilance and awareness. We need an awareness of what is actually transpiring with our negative thoughts. A negative thought never makes a situation better. Only constructive thoughts of new possibilities do that — thoughts of the unlimited.
Each moment is an opportunity to transcend limits — for each moment is an opportunity to love. Nothing can ever prevent a moment in time from being so. A body in motion tends to remain in motion. Keep moving forward. Keep loving. Transcend self-imposed limits.
