Hi there Greg - I have come over here from the comments section of Jenny Mannion's recent post.

Interesting stuff - and so important that it is said.

It's also interesting to hear about that guy who said he was going to live to 300 years old! Now that's forward thinking!

Cheers - Robin

Hi Gregory, this is a fresh perspective for me. Unknowingly, I have always taken a doctor's opinion as final.

I think you have rightly pointed out that doctors are humans too and there is certainly a margin of error, no matter how small.

I think doctors are trained to be factual and communicate facts to patients.

Certainly, some empathy and tact in communicating a patient's conditions can help to bring some hope, which may just tilt the table in the patient's favor.

Thanks for this fresh perspective, Greg!

Love your blog post. I just love to be reminded of how everyone is different and that it's important to take personal responsibility. I think this post highlights the temptation to follow the rest of the herd and go along with the flow. It actually inspired my next blog post, thanks.

I love the "positiveness" of your blog. I agree about doctors. They need to "cover their butts", but should not be so negative to not give hope. You tell somebody they are going to die in "x" months or years, they most likely will. Like you, I would drop that doctor and get one that has a holistic and positive approach. I've come to lose confidence in our modern doctors. Keep putting out posts like this one!
